The cooperation between the e-commerce giant and the king of cartoons is going to result in a new platform called DisneyLife. DisneyLife, which will be available at Alibaba's online shopping site Tmall.com, will allow consumers in China to stream movies and other content from Disney and Pixar.
- DisneyLife will provide the only holistic and trusted family-friendly digital destination in China, said Wei Ming, general manager of Alibaba’s digital-entertainment unit.
Millions of New Viewers for Disney
The terms of the deal have not been revealed, but Bloomberg Business reports the partnership will run for several years.

DisneyLife directly connects us to China’s digital population and provides millions of kids and families the ability to explore and engage with Disney, said Luke Kang, managing director of the Walt Disney Company in the Greater China region in a statement.
When the cooperation was announced Disney’s and Alibaba’s shares climbed several percent. Disney’s shares rose 3.6 percent in New York, which was the biggest gain within the day since August 26th, according to Bloomberg Business.
