E-commerce powerhouse Amazon today announced that one of their tablets is now available in China. The company this Monday told the press that they had sold millions of Fire tablets during the holiday shopping weekend in the US.
- We’ve already sold millions of Fire tablets since launch, and we’re excited to now make it available to customers in China, said Neil Lindsay, Vice President of Amazon Devices.
Fire tablets sales were up more than three times compared to last year. The new cheaper $50 Fire tablet is also said to be the fastest-selling Amazon tablet ever. This cheaper version is now moving into China and will be sold for RMB 499 Yuan.

Amazon China also today announced an agreement with Baidu, a leading Internet services company, to provide a search, apps, and online video experience on Amazon tablets in China.
