Amazon sells around 30 million fashion items on its marketplace, and now the e-commerce expert might be on the way of launching its own private-lable clothing brand, WWD reports according to an article on Fast Company.
The news site has found ads in which Amazon seem to be looking for staff to a future fashion brand department.
In one ad Amazon for example is looking for "an entrepreneurial, analytical, and highly motivated [senior] sourcing manager to join our team to launch new high-quality products for our global customers", according to WWD. Amazon has also posted an ad for the job title inventory manager.
Private Lable Will Fill the Gaps
Although Amazon has not actually yet presented an exact date for the launching of the Amazon brand, the company has revealed plans in that direction.
- When we see gaps, when certain brands have actually decided for their own reasons not to sell with us, our customer still wants a product like that, said Jeff Yurcisin, Amazon Fashion's VP of clothing, in October.
According to WWD:s estimations, Amazon might very well be able to call itself the top clothing retailer in the US by 2017.
