Amazon today announced an agreement with The University of Texas at Austin to open a staffed pickup location on the UT Austin campus. The 2,509 square foot facility, called Amazon@UT Austin, will open this summer and is to be located in Gregory Gymnasium.
– This enhanced service will benefit our students, offering them a convenient and secure place to pick up their merchandise. Faculty and staff will also be able to take advantage of the service, says Gage E. Paine, vice president for student affairs at The University of Texas at Austin.
Amazon Wants Students to Stay in School
Since 2015, Amazon has opened staffed pickup locations at Purdue University, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and University of California, Berkeley, as well as in the college communities of University of California, Santa Barbara, and University of Cincinnati.
In addition to the latest pickup point in Texas Amazon also plans to open two more locations in 2016 with the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California, Davis.
