Amazon's Launchpad Now for UK's Budding Entrepreneurs

Amazon's Launchpad Now for UK's Budding Entrepreneurs

2015-11-17 14:25

The e-commerce powerhouse now expands its program to British startups and innovators.

British startups can, starting today, use the e-commerce giant's platform Amazon Launchpad. The new "startup section" that launched in the US earlier this year has now expanded to the UK. You can find the British Launchpad at Amazonlaunchpad.co.uk.

- Now we are introducing a dedicated store on Amazon.co.uk where our customers can find a range of cutting-edge items from today’s generation of British inventors that we’re helping to cultivate, said Christopher North, Managing Director, Amazon.co.uk.

Most Innovative Products in the World

The United Kingdom is of course known for having great inventors and Amazon now hopes that they will use their new platform to reach "millions of customers" across the UK.

- British inventors are responsible for some of the most innovative consumer products in the world, from the lawnmower to the electrical vacuum cleaner to the collapsible baby buggy, said Christopher North.

Amazon Launchpad is not only a place to sell your new and innovative products. There is also a program for brand development and for reaching out to customers, and of course Amazons large fulfilment network that is there to distribute products around the world.

The program's main focus is to make it easier for startups to successfully launch their innovations. The startups that use Amazon Launchpad are also eligible for Amazon Prime, the free shipping with Amazon's membership.

- By partnering with Amazon to have the startups we’re helping be featured in the Launchpad programme, they will receive access to Amazon’s distribution network and millions of customers, giving budding entrepreneurs an incredible boost in their journey to transform an idea into a reality, said Darren Westlake, Co-Founder and CEO of UK crowdfunding site Crowdcube, one of the partners to Amazon Launchpad.
