Marketplacer, which operates four global marketplaces and provides a platform for others who want to do the same, is expanding into the UK.

The Australian e-commerce player originally launched as BikeExchange in 2006, a site where people can buy and sell bike-related products. Last year the company relaunched as Marketplacer after raising $10 million in funding, and apart from BikeExchanger, the company operates three more global marketplaces; House of Home, Outdoria and Tinitrader.

Marketplacer is valued at $70 million and employs more than 100 people with offices in Melbourne, the US, New Zealand and Germany. In addition to its global marketplaces, the company also offers a platform that allow people to build their own large scale online marketplaces.

BikeExchange is today considered the largest online marketplace in the world in its segment with operations in the US, Australia, Belgium, Germany, New Zealand and soon the UK, Business Insider reports.

Launching a New Ticketing Service

In 2016 the Australian e-commerce player is launching its marketplaces and online marketplace platform in the UK. The company has already partnered with existing companies to create big marketplaces fast.

It also plans to launch a new ticketing platform named Tixster that will feature experiences no other ticketing service can offer according to Marketplacer co-founder Jason Wyatt.

– Tixster, will set itself apart from other ticketing agencies by offering experiences you can’t get from other companies. Things like flipping a coin before an AFL match or playing golf on Augusta in America. It’ll be a premium ticket experience that will be completely unique, says Jason Wyatt.
