The discounting fest Black Friday followed by Cyber Monday are setting new records all over the world, in the markets that have adopted them.
In its country of origin, United States, Adobe has now summed up the shopping bonanza and it is a doozy. During the whole period between Thanksgiving on Thursday towards Cyber Monday the online shops in the country are estimated to have sold for $11 billion.
According to Adobe's data Cyber Monday is still the reigning champ and produced $2.98 billion in sales with Black Friday a close second with $2.72 billion.
Bigger Order Value on Black Friday
On Cyber Monday the mobile traffic accounted for 49 percent of the total traffic, with 38 percent being smartphones and 11 percent tablets. Black Friday saw an average order value of $137 and Cyber Monday slightly below that with $133.
The most popular products are said to be Samsung TVs, the gaming consoles Xbox and Playstation, and a slew of Apple products.
Adobe's data is based on 275 million visits to 4,500 e-commerce sites.
