A secret document that news site TechCrunch has come across shows that Facebook has advanced plans of letting businesses advertise in its popular Messenger app.
Companies Are Encouraged to Prepare
The document, which according to TC has been sent to some of Facebook’s most prominent advertisers, says advertisement opportunities will start during the second quarter 2016. Businesses will be able to send ads to people who have previously used the app for getting in touch with a particular company. The leaked document recommends businesses to encourage people to get in touch through Messenger, so that the company can prepare for the upcoming advertisement launch.
Facebook has been reluctant to comment on the news.

Crucial to stay close to original subject
The news site regards the comment as a confirmation of the possibility to advertise will become reality, but that it will launched in a careful manner in order to not upset any Messenger users.
It is still not clear what the ads will look like. According to the leaked document it is crucial for businesses to stay close to the subject which was brought up by the messenging customer in the first place, which could possibly mean ads will contain information of for example flash sales or campaigns for a certain product.
