Fashion Company Tries to Move E-Commerce in Store

What would happen if you married e-commerce and a physical store, one company is testing the concept.

American shoe manufacturer gone fashion brand, Kenneth Cole, launched a new concept store in New York late last year. A store that tries to take the great things of e-commerce into the physical world.

The concept store that debuted on the corner of Bowery and Bond Street has all sorts of technical gadgetry inside. It is among other things filled with touch screens that show the entire product range of the fashion house.

- The goal was to try to create a curated virtual experience in a physical environment, said Kenneth Cole to Racked Magazine during the launch.

Open the Store With an SMS

Same-day delivery within New York is of course a given with e-commerce ambitions. More interesting is the fact that the store is opened 24 hours a day, sort of.

Potential customers can text a special number and the store will open within three hours, regardless of what time of day it is.

Other virtual connections include selfie-snapping mirrors that can make animated graphics called GIFs. There is also screens in the dressing rooms that help you browse the product range.
