Fashion Rocket Chiquelle Aiming for New Markets

2015-11-20 08:17

The Swedish upcoming fashion online store Chiquelle has over 150 000 followers on Instagram, and the company has seen its revenue double in size two years in a row. Now the retailer is aiming for new markets.

Chiquelle is currently represented in Sweden, Norway and Germany, alongside an international site and a site dedicated to the European Union. Next step for the fashion retailer will be to also sell its products in Finland and the Netherlands.

- The reason we’re expanding further to Finland and the Netherlands and focusing on these two countries with dedicated websites is because we see the potential for Chiquelle to penetrate into the market very easily. It makes it easy since Chiquelle is offering unique products from unknown brands and our own designs, which is compared to other brands very high in quality. The demand for exclusive, high quality and special products are high nowadays, especially online, says Pouya Boland, CEO at Chiquelle.

Will your approach be any different in your new markets?

- Our approach will not be so different, we’re having our rebellious marketing strategy trough social media but it is important to be "localized" and offer your customers the right payment options and a fast delivery time. Packages are being shipped out within 24 hours from our warehouse in Stockholm and customers from European countries usually receive their packages after a few working days.

According to Pouya Boland, fast delivery, products from high quality and the right customer service are the main reasons Chiquelle’s customers choose to shop from the online store, and hopefully the new local sites will make the customers in Finland and the Netherlands feel it is even easier to turn to the company for new fashion gear, Pouya Boland explains.

If I am not mistaken you are from the Netherlands, what is your view on the Dutch market and its customers?

- I am indeed Dutch and lived in the Netherlands my entire life. To expand further into a country it’s essential to have the right knowledge regarding the market, the culture, the people and the way they think. You need to know how to respond in the right way on their needs and habits. The Dutch people are having different manners than the Scandinavian people and we know how to play on it. That’s the advantage we have in Chiquelle, that we know those markets very well.

Have you already noticed an interest for Chiquelle in Finland and the Netherlands?

- We noticed that there aren’t many online brands like Chiquelle with exclusive products that vary from other stores and brands. You can find a lot of companies and webshops offering the same products and brands just in different ways. But we are offering exclusive and different products in our own style. More fashionable, elegance and stylish.

The launching of the new sites are scheduled for November and January. The range of products will be the same, but practical things like paying methods will vary from country to country.
