Earlier this year Alibaba´s founder Jack Ma passed Jeff Bezos on Bloomberg's list of the world's richest people. Ma ended up in 13th place, three places in front of the e-commerce colleague and rival Bezos. Since then a lot has happened.
While Alibaba has had a tough time in the stock market, Amazon in October posted its second-straight quarterly profit and throughout 2015 Amazon’s stock has soared. Something that clearly shows on the list of the world's richest people.
This Year's Big Winner
According to the Forbes Real Time Billionaire Ranking Jeff Bezos is now said to be worth $58.4 billion, compared to $38.4 billion in February 2015. Which also means that Bezos now is the world's fourth richest person.
According to Forbes, Bezos net worth has jumped up 102 percent this year, as of Tuesday, making him one of the year’s biggest gainers in percentage terms. Jack Ma on the other hand has lost several places and is considered the 33th richest person, with a net worth that Forbes put at $22.7 billion.
