After the launch of Prime Now in the US, Amazon earlier this year took its fastest delivery service across the Atlantic and into the UK. So far, apart from an additional launch in Italy, Prime Now has in Europe been available for Prime members in London, Birmingham and Newcastle. From today the expansion also includes Manchester together with surrounding areas like Wigan, Warrington, Stockport and Oldham.
- We’re thrilled to expand our one-hour delivery service to Manchester, our latest Prime Now city. Prime Now has proved immensely popular in the cities that already have the service and we think that customers in Manchester and the surrounding areas will love it. We expect to see many last minute Christmas gifts ordered through Prime Now between now and the late hours of Christmas Eve, said Christopher North, Managing Director at Amazon.co.uk.
Service Includes Ice Cream and Fresh Juices
The expansion of the service means Prime members in selected postcode areas in Manchester can now choose from more than 15,000 products on Amazon, including everything from perfume to Christmas snacks as well as several fresh products like ice cream and fresh juices.
To have the order delivered within one hour will cost £6.99 but customers can also choose delivery within two hours without having to pay any extra fees. The fee for Amazon's Prime membership is £79 per year. Deliveries will take place between 8 am and midnight, seven days a week.
