Prime Now Going Down to Liverpool The most popular item to have within the hour

Prime Now Going Down to Liverpool

2016-01-27 11:14

Amazon's ultra-fast delivery service Prime Now, that aims to bring you your order within the hour, now expands further into the UK.

Prime Now was launched in Manchester in December 2015 after having been rolled out in London, Birmingham and Newcastle earlier last year.

2016 starts with Liverpool getting a taste of Amazon's one-hour delivery window. Prime members in Liverpool will now be able to have their order within the hour. The surrounding areas including Birkenhead, Warrington and Wigan will get a two-hour delivery window.

- Prime Now is our fastest delivery option ever and we are excited to make it available for customers in Liverpool. Whether it’s essentials like fresh milk, nappies or even a last minute gift, customers love the convenience of delivery straight to their door in less than sixty minutes, said Jason Weston, director of Prime Now.

60 Million Members Worldwide

Prime Now customers will also have access to a range of chilled and frozen items from yogurts, bread, fresh juices and eggs to pizzas, fish fingers and ice-cream.

One of the fastest deliveries in the UK to date, through Amazon, was a console game which was ordered at 10:06am, shipped from Amazon’s Erdington delivery station in Birmingham and delivered at 10:21am to a postcode in Castle Vale. The most popular Prime Now purchase of 2015 was Amazon's Fire TV Stick.

We recently reported that Amazon Prime might have as many as 41 million members in the US, new estimates from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners puts this number closer to 54 million. The research firm also puts the total membership base at around 60 million.
