SEOshop Goes Omnichannel With Ligthspeed POS

SEOshop Goes Omnichannel With Ligthspeed POS

2015-11-19 09:12

E-commerce platform SEOshop with a stronghold in Benelux and Germany is now going into physical stores.

The Canadian point of sale company Lightspeed POS acquires the e-commerce platform SEOshop for an undisclosed amount of money.

SEOshop says that they are the fastest growing e-commerce platform in Europe and that they currently serve more than 8,000 merchants in the regions of Benelux and Germany. Among them Philips Lighting, Heineken, National Geographic and the Van Gogh Museum.

- We are extremely thrilled by the acquisition by Lightspeed POS, said Ruud Stelder, CEO of SEOshop.

Unified Omnichannel Experience

Lightspeed POS works with stores and restaurants with their point of sale solutions. Combined with SEOshop they hope to enable merchants to offer a unified in-store and online omnichannel customer experience.

- Our customers will be able to tap into the possibilities of Lightspeed’s mobile POS and commerce platform and Lightspeed customers will have easy access to our eCommerce platform. This acquisition will enable retailers around the globe to reach out to customers wherever they are, both online and offline, said Ruud Stelder.

Lightspeed was founded in 2005 and today has offices in Canada, USA, and Europe. The company earlier this year announced a $61 million funding round. Together with SEOshop the company now serves 34,000 businesses in over 100 countries, and processes $12 billion in annual transactions.
