Zalando Picks up Returns From Customers' Homes

Zalando Picks up Returns From Customers' Homes

2016-02-25 15:33

Zalando opens new store and tests new return service in Germany.

The European online fashion store Zalando today made two big announcements regarding Germany's fourth-largest city, Cologne.

Late last year the online store opened its second outlet store in Frankfurt. This was however a different concept compared to Zalando's previous outlets and more of a premium store. The previous two outlets, one in Frankfurt and one in Berlin, are places for heavily discounted goods.

Now Zalando opens another one of its outlets, this time in Cologne, Germany. It will open in the shopping center DuMont Carré, which is within walking distance from the main station in Cologne. The store opening is planned for later this spring.

New Way of Returning Goods

The new store will be over a thousand square meters and Zalando promises discounts of up to 70 percent. Products from previous seasons and goods with minor faults will be sold in the new outlet store.

We guess a big part of the inventory will be returns from the e-commerce operations. Speaking of returns Zalando also announced a new initative regarding the return of goods bought online.

In Cologone Zalando customers will now be able to return products from their homes. From Monday to Friday between 7pm and 9pm Zalando will pick up returns from customer's homes. This is a new service according to Zalando and it will be free in the current test phase.
